Freeware Boulder Dash Clones - DHTML

This is the freeware DHTML section. Here you can find freeware Boulderdash games, written in DHTML. Those games run in your web browser.

DHTML (or Dynamic HTML) is a collective term for a combination of Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) tags and options, style sheets, and programming that will let you create Web pages more animated and more responsive to user interaction than previous versions of HTML. Dynamic HTML can allow Web documents to look and act like desktop applications or multimedia productions.

Below are the DHTML games. Download them and enjoy!

Game name: DHTML Boulderdash
Author/publisher: Gareth Williams
Year of publishing: 2003
Platforms: DHTML
A very simple clone. There are hardly any animations (only the rolling eyes of the character you control) and there are no sounds. Also, you can't run under a falling stone. If your score is high enough, it will be listed in the online highscore list.

Game name: VBS Boulderdash
Author/publisher: Alan Bond
Year of publishing: 2006
Platforms: DHTML
VBS Boulderdash is a very good try to make an online game that nevertheless gives you an idea about what Boulder Dash was like on the Commodore 64. The graphics and sounds are almost similar to those from the C64 version. You can choose to play levels from Boulder Dash, Rockford's Riot (Boulder Dash II), Boulder Dash III and levels by Alan Bond, the creator of this game, himself. There is even a complete Cave Editor included! If you rather play online than offline games, as some people do, you should certainly give this a try! Please note that the game only works in Internet Explorer and not in other browsers, such as Mozilla Firefox.

If you know more about a certain game or if you have a new game, new levels, music or whatever, please send it to me and I will put it on this website! You can find my e-mailaddress in the menu to the left.
